As we approach the end of the year, we have been asking God to challenge our norm. To challenge us in the every day things of life and most importantly, to lay everything on the table to see where we can make room for more of God.
In doing this, we have personally been on a very defining journey with the Lord and it has sparked a new passion with urgency to share His word to whoever will hear it.
Jesus is coming back and we have not a second more to waste on things that won’t matter in eternity.
A few nights ago, God dropped this song into my heart. As people after God’s heart, our sole desire must be to be a witness for Him throughout the earth. We have an ever-burning light that shines within us and it is our responsibility to shine that light into all the earth. The thing about LIGHT is that it exposes what was once in darkness and let’s be honest, it isn’t always pretty. It doesn’t always feel warm and fuzzy. And sometimes, people get a little mad about it. BUT, it is always good.
“It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
We are living in a time where the post-modern church is walking on eggshells and the lights are continuously dimmed so that no one is offended. They have exchanged the call to “expose the works of darkness” (Eph 5:11) for accommodation and presenting Jesus as a “wide gate” rather than a narrow one.
I can, with all honesty, say that as we have made the decision to expose the works of darkness, with love, we have reaped more fruit in the last few weeks than we have in the last several years of ministry.
Could it be that the church is hungering for something more?
For someone to push past the walls of their sin and call them to live in the Way, the Truth, and the Life?
To prophesy to the dead bones in their life?
The answer is a resounding YES. Will you answer the call?
